I have Enlisted

I have joined the Navy's Nuclear Program, and shall depart in October for 8 weeks of fun at boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. Assuming I do well there I will continue on with 2 years of schooling in South Carolina, and then start my 4 years working aboard a nuclear powered vessel. So that leaves me with 8 months until I will be gone from the internet, and unlikely to return soon after. And as I have decided I would like some preparation before I even go to boot camp, I am going to limit my internet use quite soon, and start working out, and perhaps studying the physics and math I have long forgotten, but will be of much use to me once I get through boot camp.

So I would like to say now that I have had many years of fun with you all, and I don't believe I will ever leave for good, but I may be gone for long periods of time. I just hope that each time I come back there are games to be had somewhere, and that we will be able to reminisce of the good times, and add to them when possible.

Thank You for the good times throughout the years. That friendly competition between you and me was sooo much fun (even though you far eclipsed my skills this past year or two!). Lots of laughter and that's what it's all about.

You're a smart guy, Xion. I know you will not let any nuclear accidents happen.....again. When you get to the ship, ask where they keep the nuclear wessels.

I'm touched that you feel the same as I do about this game and this group of people we have here. I, also, will never leave. The game may die, the forums may go away, but I will keep in contact with you and many others.

I wish you the best of luck. Not everyone knows what they want to do with their life. To be young and to see that thought process out to the end is amazing bro. You've got the dedications and the brains to carry this career choice out.

Good luck. I had talked to someone that went a similar route before. He said he could be out making 70k/year after the navy, but wanted to get his finance degree instead.


Good luck and use this opportunity to see the world. Just remember banging hookers that have navy men clientele will bust your junk up bad.

And Scott, when I get to the re-enlistment time, I will have a tough choice of take that nice big bonus and stay in, or get out and get a nice paying job in the civilian world. I guess it mostly depends on how I like the military once I get in.

And as for the hookers, I have kept my junk clean thus far, I don't plan on sticking it any place dirty at any point in the future.
